Gmail
One Gmail mailbox through the Gmail API: read and search mail, send replies, label and trash messages. Google admits Gmail's restricted scopes only on internal or verified applications, so the connection authorises through your own Google OAuth client.
Connected once, used everywhere.
Connections are declared in your repository and authorised in the console. The credentials stay with the platform; apps, pipelines, workflows and the agent use them under the same roles.

What the connection reaches
- Messages, threads, attachments and history of one mailbox
- Send, draft, label and trash; never deletes permanently
- Filters, vacation reply and other mailbox settings
- Status
- Built into the pipeline SDK
- Connection class
- GmailConnection
- Credential
- Google account that owns the mailbox, through your own Google OAuth client
Connect Gmail
Three steps, the same for every connection. The credential goes to the platform, never into the repository or pipeline code.
- 1
Declare it in connections/connections.py
connections/connections.py from segmentstream.connections import GmailConnection connections = ( GmailConnection(key="gmail"),) - 2
Deploy
$ segmentstream deploy - 3
Connect
Enter the client ID and secret of your Google OAuth client in the console, and add the redirect URI it shows to that client. For a Google Workspace mailbox, make the client's app internal.
$ segmentstream connection configure gmail - 4
Then
Open the connection in the console and sign in with the Google account that owns the mailbox, or authorise it from the terminal. Tokens are refreshed by the platform; pipeline code never sees them.
$ segmentstream connection authorize gmail --open
Use it
Code asks for the connection by its key. The platform adds the credential on the way out.
import segmentstream as s with s.get_connection("gmail").get_http_client() as client: response = client.get("/users/me/messages", params={"q": "in:inbox newer_than:1d"}) response.raise_for_status()Or ask your agent
“Connect our support@ Gmail inbox and load new conversations every 15 minutes.”
